Everyone goes through seasons of difficulty or times when things just seem dark. During these challenging times, know that you are not alone. God has a plan to drive out the darkness — He will flood you with His light! Notice that in today’s verse it doesn’t say, “The light will come trickling in.” No, it says that the light will come bursting in! That means suddenly, you will see God’s goodness. Suddenly, you’ll be promoted. Suddenly, the answer will come!

If you’ve been going through a difficult time, get ready for the goodness of God in a new way. Know that His light is about to come bursting in! Get ready for breakthroughs. Get ready for promotion. Get ready for restoration. You may have had that problem for a long, long time, but today could be the day that it turns around. Suddenly, things can change! God wants His glory to be seen on you. He wants you to stand out in the crowd. He wants you to be so blessed that everyone around you can see His goodness on you! So keep standing, keep believing, keep hoping and keep declaring His Word because His light is going to come bursting in!

If I could tell my 18-year old self only one thing, I would tell her to wait. I would tell her not to give her heart away too soon, or too often. I would tell her that there’s no need to hurry, no need to worry. God has something amazing planned and all He needs you to do is to trust in His timing!

And in a way, this is also my advice to you, whether you’re 18 or 28. If the Lord asks you to wait, wait. Wait on Him. Wait for His best. Wait on the one he has planned for you. Wait and I promise you won’t regret it. Wait and He promises that it will be worth it.

My husband is one my life’s greatest blessings; he is more than I could have ever asked for. Sure, we have fights and we get annoyed at each other sometimes, but he is my partner, my lover, my travel buddy and my best friend. In my world, no one can ever come close to him. He’s not perfect, but he’s perfect for me. In other words, he is God’s best for me. :)

God is never early and never late. He is always on time. So wait. And by waiting I mean, wait prayerfully and expectantly. Don’t give your heart right away to the next guy that comes along and don’t waste your time obsessing over why you’re still single! There is a season for everything (see Ecclesiastes) so make the most out of each season of your life.

The time will come when God will say it’s time to love, and when that time comes, you’ll be happy you saved yourself physically and emotionally only for your God’s Best.

I believe that God has planted seeds of greatness on the inside of every one of us. We all have dreams and desires, things we want to accomplish; things we want to see changed. But so many times, life has a way of stealing our dreams. We go through disappointments, face adversity, things don’t turn out as we would like. Too often, people just end up settling for second best. But God doesn’t want us to settle for second best. He wants us to be determined, press on, and pursue the greatness that’s on the inside. We should never let “good enough” be good enough!

I want to encourage you today to stir yourself up and get your fire back. Start speaking victory over your future. If one dream has died, dream another dream. Put yourself in a positive, faith-filled environment. Get around people of excellence who live passionately. Fan the flame that is in you so you can move forward into all God has in store for you!

A Prayer for Today

Father, I come to You today giving You my disappointments, setbacks, hurts and broken dreams. I ask that You restore my passion and vision for the future. Let Your flame burn brightly in me now and forevermore in Jesus’ name. Amen.

If there is a common thread that should run through the life of a Christian each day, it’s prayer. Now, that doesn’t mean you refuse to speak to anyone else or that you drive down the road with your eyes closed. But it does mean being ever ready and willing to go before God. Nothing is too small or too big for God to care about. He created you, so why wouldn’t He care about you? You should bathe your life in prayer. Pray for wisdom, peace, and patience. Pray for your marriage, your job, and your children. Pray for other people and circumstances, even when the situation may seem hopeless. Give every person and everything in your life to God in prayer and they will be in the best of hands!

God, thank You for the wonderful privilege of talking to You in prayer. Help me to pray continually and faithfully for the people and needs around me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

There are many misconceptions about God in the world today. Some people think He’s mad at them, and other’s think He’s keeping a list of all their wrongs. But that isn’t what scripture tells us. Scripture tells us that God is gracious, patient and loving; that He is forgiving and doesn’t treat us as our sins deserve. Scripture tells us that God is for us, and if God is for us, who can be against us?

Think about that for a moment. The same God who created the heavens and earth, the one who spoke the universe into existence and knows everything about you, He is on your side and wants the best for you. I love today’s verse because it is a great reminder that when God is for you, no one can win against you. Not the pain of your past. Not any mistake you’ve made. Not the forces of hell, your worst enemy, a bad economy, a difficult housing market or anything else on this earth.

Today, instead of dwelling on what you’re not, dwell on what He is — He is faithful, He is loving, He is with you and He is for you! And with God on your side, you are headed for victory all the days of your life!
